March 2005 - Market Decline. The town has for many years had as it's central point a market, held several days a week. On Saturdays the place would be filled with a variety of stalls and people doing their weekly shopping. Today the same market is a desolate place by comparison. Some years ago a shopping centre was added to the town as well as several out of town superstores. However other nearby towns are able sustain similar facilties as well as a thriving market. Why the decline in the market has occurred is therefore difficult to say. Link back to March 2005 Home
