More of The Street. The pictures below show the big machine ripping up the tarmac, exposing the soil beneath and a smaller machine levelling a bit of ground after the first layer of tarmac had been laid. Click on the picture to see a larger image. A small roller going over newly laid tarmac - small in size made the most noise of all. Time allocated for re-surfacing the road was two weeks, the whole process was in fact accomplished in four days. Quite an achievement !! A sigh of relief from all the residents when trucks, rollers, tarmac laying machine departed and with it the “road closed” sign which I dislike most of all. back to The Street in October Home
